The ski resorts here are not spectacular, glamorous or over-crowded – They are however, family-friendly, easy to find your way around in and yet appealing. A variety of pistes for every standard of skier guarantees unspoilt winter fun for everyone. The Hotel Mohrenwirt in Fuschl am See is a central starting point for you to try out a new ski area everyday:
The ski resort Skischaukel Gaissau-Hintersee provides you with 40 km of excellently prepared pistes for skiing and snowboarding alike. While the kids are carving their first curves in the snow the parents can enjoy the rustic mountain hut atmosphere on the sunny restaurant terraces!
Numerous single lifts and smaller groups of lifts dotted around the Lake Fuschl region offer the best possible introduction to skiing – especially for beginners and children.
The nearby ski area Postalm offers 20 km or prepared pistes for pure alpine skiing pleasure! Lying at 1200 metres, the Postalm ski station is situated in the centre of Austria’s largest mountain pasture area and in addition to its altitude, the snow-making machines make the area snow-sure from the beginning of December to the beginning of April. Skiing, carving, boarding, cross-country skiing – and afterwards a visit to one of the convivial mountain restaurants! That’s what winter is about! The 10,000 m² fun-park means that the kids are also kept happy off-piste. In the ski-kindergarten and ski school your children will be given the very best care leaving you free to enjoy unlimited pisted pleasure.
The larger ski resorts in Salzburg Country are just a short car journey away. Winter pleasure of the best kind!
Cross Country Skiing and More Around Lake Fuschl
In the Lake Fuschl region 130 km of cross-country skiing trails await you. You can start straight away in Fuschl am See with the 8 km long Bambichl-Perfail trail!
The cross-country skiing heart of the region is Faistenau, just a few minutes drive from Fuschl am See. This well organised cross-country ski centre provides not only 60 kilometres of trails but also the necessary infrastructure such as showers/WC, changing rooms, ski hire and waxing workshops.
In addition the region has a great deal to offer for kite-boarders, winter walkers, snow-shoe walkers and a whole range of other winter sports! At the Hotel Mohrenwirt we look forward to putting together an offer for your winter holiday!
